Assembly drawing on sheet 1 sheet 2 and show the components

Assembly drawing on sheet 1 sheet 2 and show the components

Assembly drawing on sheet 1 sheet 2 and show the components

(OP)
I have an Assembly drawing and the exploded view is on the seet one.

Yes I'm new to NX so I add a sheet two now how do I add the other parts of the assemble to sheet 2 and 3 etc. Where do I go so I can select what component/model/part goes on the next sheet.

Thank you

RE: Assembly drawing on sheet 1 sheet 2 and show the components

There's more than one way to do this, but here's how I would choose to accomplish this if you have fewer than 20-30 components in the assembly:

On Sheet 2, add a view that shows the entire assembly. Choose Assemblies -> Context Control -> Hide Component In View. Select all the components you DO NOT wish to see, then select ALL the views in which you do not wish to see those selected components. OK out of the dialog and then update all views. Components that were not showing may appear (like if you have an internal component) - so what I do is usually pick the component I want hidden from the ANT.

You can probably also use arrangements or render sets (of which I'm not too educated at the moment) and View Dependent Edits will also hide the solids if you wish, rather than using Hide Component.

Why would you choose to put all of your drawings in the top level and not with the individual components - unless this is just a special case where you're not making true drawings but just wireframe views for something like an image to paste into a document?

RE: Assembly drawing on sheet 1 sheet 2 and show the components

Hello Jeff.

I don't know which version of NX you are using but you should be able to select which component you want to place a view for in the add view menu.
Following this procedure there is no need to hide components afterwards.

RE: Assembly drawing on sheet 1 sheet 2 and show the components

Hello!

1. Cilck on BaseView icon (or insert menu/view/base)
2. in Base View dialog box, look at the first section, Part
3. in Part Section, you will have an Open icon. Click on it.
4. now, you can select any part you want. Part of the assembly or anything else.

hope, this helps.
