Carrier HAP ??
(OP)
Hey guys and gals,
I am running some loads for a new restaurant. I was given the following parameters to run loads:
Weather Data Knoxville, Tn
Maintain between 70-73 degrees cooling in the space
total of 160 occupants
The space is open from 12-2 for lunch, and from 6-9 pm for dinner.
The building is shaded by an adjacent building that is 75' taller than this building
I need to run the loads so it shows me the peak load during occupied times only.
I feel this can be accomplished using the schedules in the spaces and unit selections, but am having a hard time.
When i print out the loads, it tells me my peak load of 153,100 btu's occurs at 2:00 pm in August, which i can believe. But, i print out the Hourly Zone loads, and that peak number doesn't show up at all. At that time in that month, it shows 79,728 btu's. Does this number represent the load in the space, not the overall building load at that time in the Hourly Zone loads?
So confsed...Anyone have an input?
Thanks
Wayne

Carrier HAP support is also really good, they work by e-mail and you generally get an answer within an hour or two.
Best to you,

160 People need a considerable outside air. and at 2:00 pm. what you see in the hourly zone loads is only the building loads and not the system loads. the first page summary is the system load sizing summary which includes the outside air load, the fan load etc.
if your outside air is not pre-treated, for sure your zone load will be very less than system load at that time (2:00 pm)
