Whole structure not taken into account

Hello! can anyone help me with a "small" problem. Thank you very much in advance.

I've imported parasolid file (from Pro-E) as one part into Abaqus. Part consists of upper ring, rib, and lower ring. As I've finished analysis whole structure was not taken into account, just "upper ring" which was submitted to load condition. I've entered BC encastre on lower surface of lower ring and between rib and both ring. I've added whole structure to homogenous section and made it independent.

Best regards,
Robert

RE: Whole structure not taken into account

HelloRobert, did you try to merge the nodes in the mesh? Otherwise, the imported parts are not "working together". Regards,
Luja

Hi Luja!

Thank you very much for your reply-that could definitely be the problem. Are the merging options so primitive that i must choose either elements to merge or nodes, or am I the only one primitive here? :)

In link/picture it's obvious that nodes are not merged.
