Non-stick coating for brass parts to resist steam and water scale....

Non-stick coating for brass parts to resist steam and water scale....

(OP)
Hi All,

Can anyone steer me towards a non-stick coating for brass parts used in steam up to 150 psi (366F) that also resists water scale buildup?

We have tried PTFE coatings in the past, but not recommended by mfr. for use in steam.

Any feedback greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Quite a few options beyond PTFE: silicone, MoS2, graphite. Contact Whitford (Xylan) and Curtis Wright (Everlube) for recommendations.

Thanks Cory,

Already contated Whitford - Xylan is not recommended for steam service. I'll try CW.

Whitford said their silicone versions of Xylan would not work in steam?

Apparently not. They said the closest coating they had would be Dykor PVDF, but it was not non-stick.
