DLoad On Pipe

DLoad On Pipe

(OP)
Forum Users,

I'm trying to model a distributed load on the top of a PIPE31 element. When I use the following card:

*DLOAD, OP=MOD
EpipeF4, PZ, -45674.11
*End Step

I am aiming to distribute a load of 45674.11 in the negative z direction i.e. downwards. However, the results I obtain are not what I would expect logically. Is this the correct notation? Would it be better to instead change the friction coefficient so that the overall friction is the same as would be calculated with the new load?

Your help is greatly appreciated,

Michel
