Change Hinge line Projection view

Change Hinge line Projection view

Change Hinge line Projection view

(OP)
Hello,

i'm working in NX 7.5.4.4.
I have reseved a drawing from a co-developer but the angle projection is wrong.
Can i change the hinge line of a projection view after this one is placed?

Thanks

Ruud

RE: Change Hinge line Projection view

Right click view > edit, choose from the drop down options next to Specify Vector, these will change the hinge line, I tend to use XC, YC or point-to-point

Dear Khimani,

Whe i do that i don't see specify vector.
I'm seeing
View Origin: Specify Location, Placement, tracking, Move view
Settings, View Style, Hidden Components, Non-Sectioned.

So there isn't the option to change the vector after the view is placed.

RE: Change Hinge line Projection view

Then it's very possible that the view which looks like a 'Projected View' could have simply been rotated manually into what looks like it was based on some sort of hinge line.

One way to check the method used to create the view is to select the view, press MB3, select 'Properties' and when when the dialog opens, select the 'Information' icon in the lower Right corner. The first entry under the listing header will be 'View Type'. There are several possible values for this, but unless it says 'Auxiliary View' it's not a proper Projected view created relative to a non-orthographic 'hinge-line'. If it says 'Imported View' than it's what I suspected, simply a view that has added and then manipulated until it looked like a projected view.

Dear John,

I have checked that. From je projected view the view type is Orthogonal view and from the base view the view type is Imported View.

Is het possible to change the Orthogonal view?

Kind regards

Ruud

RE: Change Hinge line Projection view

NO, by definition, 'Orthogonal' views are 'Projected Views' which once placed, are relative to either a FIXED vertical or FIXED horizontal orientation. However, if you place a 'Projected View' and you orient it to something other than the default Horizontal/Vertical orientations, then it will be created as an 'Auxiliary' view with a editable hinge-line.

So if i'm understaind it wright then it isn't possible to change te hinge line of the projected view?
Only when by placing the projection view the hinge line is defined?

RE: Change Hinge line Projection view

Basically corrrrect, as I described in my previous post.
