Transformer Entrance Bushing

Transformer Entrance Bushing

Transformer Entrance Bushing

(OP)
There is an entrance bushing constructed from special high-grade material, it used in high voltage insulation ability, for arc and track resistance as will high pressure. Made from Teflon and unfortunately it is given continues failed. Therefore, the failed point was from the Teflon side of the joints points with metallic parts. So these high voltage entrance bushings were used in Desalter and Dehydrator vessel.
So if any one has an idea that could help to prevent the failure of this bushing or any modification can be done especially this bushing was impressed in the crude oil with high pressure and temperature.

RE: Transformer Entrance Bushing

Please clarify the voltage level and configuration of the installation, level of overvoltage and pressure in the vessel.

If you should have a three phase arrangement the best configuration is to hace the bushing (penetration) in a equidistant triangular arrangement. Also consider the use of surge arrester in case of severe overvoltage.

Research in HV terminations (Pothead). G&W could be a starting source.

Thank you cuky2000 for your replay to my question.  Regarding the voltage it is 23Kv and only single line that mean the transformer having three phase input and single phase output. The voltage goes through the bushing to the vessel and there is flange to hold the bushing from the vessel and transformer and the main problem is that the oil goes through the bushing connections either from the bottom side or the other sides.this bushing were installed inside the spool with high pressure and the failure was comes from the vessel and the crude oil.So if there is any type of spool , flange and bushing that will be used  to prevent the failures?.
Thank you.
