FEM NX7.5: specify load with formula

FEM NX7.5: specify load with formula

FEM NX7.5: specify load with formula

(OP)
Hi,

I'm trying to add a load (pressure) on a surface. But I don't want to set a constant value for the pressure.
I want to specify the pressure with a formula (polynomial). The dependent value is the z-coordinate.
How can I do this in NX7.5?

Thanks

RE: FEM NX7.5: specify load with formula

Hello!,
When you define a load or boundary condition in NX Advanced Simulation, you can use fields to define how the magnitude of the load or constraint varies, as well as how the load or constraint maps to a spatial area of the model. The type of boundary condition determines the methods that you can use to define magnitude or how the boundary condition is distributed spatially.

Standard (non-spatial) boundary condition types include Force, Moment, Bearing, and many others. Some boundary conditions such as Pressure have both standard and spatial types.

With most standard boundary condition types:
◦ You can use a field to define how the magnitude of a boundary condition varies with frequency, time, or temperature. You can also apply a unitless scaling factor to the magnitude.
◦ You can also use a field to define how the boundary condition is distributed spatially over a model. The same spatial distribution field can be used for different boundary conditions such as force, pressure, or enforced displacement. This method is best for spatially-varying boundary conditions.

Spatial boundary conditions include the spatial types of Pressure loads and Temperature Load, and many others. For spatial boundary conditions, you define the spatial distribution and magnitude at the same time.

Check the NX AdvSim manuals and you will learn how to define expressions, filds, variables, formulas, etc..

Best regards,
Blas.
