Overhead Line Question

Overhead Line Question

Overhead Line Question

(OP)
I'm in the process of reviewing an excel sheet used to calculate pole capacity. One of the engineers calculated the term "pull (ft)" but I'm not sure what the use for it is. I've attached the picture he sent me when I asked him about it.

He's pretty difficult to get a hold of so I was hoping you guys could help me.

RE: Overhead Line Question

It's a method of measuring the line angle in the field.

Thank you.

Do they measure out 100 ft in the span direction, walk until they're between the two spans, and then measure the distance to the pole?
