Error when placing a Detail View in Drafting module

Error when placing a Detail View in Drafting module

Error when placing a Detail View in Drafting module

(OP)
Hi,

in drafting module, when placing a Detail View I get a error message after choosing where I want my detail view to be placed: "Inconsistent values given for array element replacement operation". How to get around this?

This happens on NX 8.5.2.3 with Tc 9 integration.

RE: Error when placing a Detail View in Drafting module

I've never encountered that error and have no idea what might be causing it. I would recommend that you contact GTAC and have them look at it.

RE: Error when placing a Detail View in Drafting module

There are a few incident reports on Gtac about this error.
some of them relate to extracted faces I have posted one of them below with a solution at the end... It is for NX7.5 and I don't know if you have any extracted faces which could cause this, but you have to start somewhere... smile

Quote (Siemens GTAC)

Problem Description: Alert "Inconsistent values given for array element replacement operation." is raised for an Extract Face.

- Customer wants to know "What does the alert mean"?

* Issue appears to be fixed in NX8.0 by editing the EXTRACT feature and
reselecting the parent Face and updating the feature...
possibly by PR-06539835.

Solution
The problem where Extract Face raised the Alert: "Inconsistent values given for array element replacement operation", has been investigated and the following has been found to be as designed.
The alert shown on the screen is from the error message stored in the frec. In other words, when editing the fail-to-recreate extracted face, the alert is just telling the user why the extracted face failed at the earlier moment.
If the user wants to know why this error message is raised, we need to know the process/workflow which makes the extracted face fail recreation.

RE: Error when placing a Detail View in Drafting module

Hi,

good that this is noted in GTAC already. The geometry in question was a Linked body of a sheet metal solid part - so something to do with linked geometries most likely, if Extract also caused the error (I reckon Extract also performs a geometry link of some sort).
