PVElite, clad plate modeling problem
PVElite, clad plate modeling problem
(OP)
All,
If you are end users of PVElite, please be aware that this program currently can not handle clad plate if I am not wrong.
The following help I found in the internet is a false:
Q: Can you use clad material or for instance carbon steel with stainless overlay? A: You can specify lining and insulation for shells and heads
If you do that, the clad will mix up with fireproofing or insulation, that means you won't get the correct fabrication, shipping, erection weights. That also means your shipping analysis, shipping saddles, rigging analysis will be wrong, and any stress analysis associated with these weights will be wrong.
If you model as corrosion allowance, you will get the MAPnc wrong, hence you will have wrong hydrotest pressure if you are requested by client or spec to use MAPnc for test pressure.
Your thought.

RE: PVElite, clad plate modeling problem
The internal lining or external (lining) insulation is only added as weight or/and additional/extended surface for wind loading calculations.
Hope this helps.
