Spell check in Nx

(OP)
Hi all,
Is there a way to check the spelling in Nx. drafting. I have many notes which changes frequently and has to be entered manually.

Regards,
Sundeep P.

RE: Spell check in Nx

No.
When I have a situation like you I cut and paste the notes into WORD and do the spell check there.

RE: Spell check in Nx

Hi Sundeep...

It is possible to do a spellcheck in NX. Checkmate can do this, but needs a license of course.

RE: Spell check in Nx

There's a sample NXOpen application that spellchecks notes (it ships with NX). You'll still need MS Word installed because it uses Word's spellcheck routines.

Cowski,

Care to share where it may be and what it is called?

RE: Spell check in Nx

The files are in the folder: <$UGII_BASE_DIR>\UGOPEN\SampleNXOpenApplications\.NET\SpellChecker.

I'll admit, I've not tried it myself as my spelling is xsellint rednose
Looking over the readme file, it appears that you may have to compile it yourself to get it running; but there are instructions.

RE: Spell check in Nx

What I use is a 3rd party application called 'TinySpell+' which runs in the background (when installed it starts when Windows is launched) and works with ANY application where there is a text entry field, including NX.

You can learn more about this appt at:

RE: Spell check in Nx

Siemens NX absolutely has a spell checker built in....It seems not to many people know about it. I'll explain how to set it up so you can use it and not have to do all this crazy stuff you all speak of.

while in your drafting sheet click--> Analysis --> check mate--> set up tests.
"Tests" tab--> expand "Spell Check" towards the bottom. Move both tests to the chosen Tests by clicking the teal arrow at the right.
Click execute check mate. It will show a red x where ever misspellings are.

Enjoy your new knowledge!

RE: Spell check in Nx
