Alternative options for a Lift/elevator in a building structure
Alternative options for a Lift/elevator in a building structure
(OP)
Dear All
I am designing a 10 story shear wall building structure. I have 2 lifts in the plan but i dont want to use rocking/core wall for that. I have seen some elevators with only columns and beams but could not find it. Can somebody refer me to some literature regarding these type of elevators which are made of beams, columns and some partitioning.
Regards

Call the elevator guys and see what they have done in the past. The elevator itself probably doesn't care if the shaft it's enclosed in is structural or not, as long as its tolerances are kept. There are many examples of atrium elevators clearly not part of a structural shaft.
