Sketcher Mode "Match Properties" Command ?

Sketcher Mode "Match Properties" Command ?

Sketcher Mode "Match Properties" Command ?

(OP)
Hello Everyone,

This is Himanshu here, once again..

My another query in CATIA V5 is - Is there any command of "Match Properties" in the Skether Mode of CATIA ??

I mean, can i match the properties of a dimension with the another one ??

For example: I have specified a "Name" of a particular dimension by going into the definition-more- entered the required text in the "Name" field.

After entering this i right clicked on the dimension & i said "Name & Value Display" (for identification purpose)

Now, i want the same text to be copied to another 10 dimensions.

I hope you got my question.

Regards,

Himanshu

I cannot find a way to do what you want.

The PAINTER tool will copy graphic properties (color, width, linetype, layer, etc), but it doesn't copy the objects's name.

Just curious - why do you want to give 10 constraints the same name?

Hi! Jackk,

I work sometimes on conversion of 2D Drawing to 3D Modelling. In many 2D Drawings reveived from the client, there are no dimensions specified, so in that case we have to assume it based on the proportionality,standards,etc... After assuming this dimensions, we normally indicate it in the sketch itself to inform the client about the assumed dimensions when he checks the 3D Model.

Thanks - that makes sense. And more obvious than changing color or changing layer.

I always thought the constraint display mode was a user setting (I wouldn't see the names, unless I had the same settings as you). Thank you for correcting me on that.
