Default colors

(OP)
Good morning,

I have some old drawings that I am working on, and the colors are messed up. The smooth edge, hidden line and virtual intersection colors have been changed to colors other than the default color. How do I change it back to the default color for the respective components? I am running NX 6.0.5.3 under Windows 7.

Thanks,

Al

RE: Default colors

Not sure what you're asking. Are you saying that NX 6.0 is acting different than an older version of NX? Or are you saying that the Drawing is behaving differently than say the Component part file? Are you using the master model approach, that is the Drawing is actually an Assembly with the par being a Component? If so, remember that these color settings are part specific meaning that when the part file was first created it inherited the default colors set at that moment. If you make changes to the default but then open up an older file, including a template part, the new settings will NOT be used.

The problem is that someone manually set the color for smooth edges, hidden lines and virtual intersections on a drawing to be blue, instead of the color of the part itself. How do I change the color on these linetypes back to the original color? Once again, I am running NX 6.0.5.3 under Windows 7.

Thanks,

Al

RE: Default colors

In the view style, hold the Ctrl key and select (left click) the color that has been assigned. This will un-select the color and the drawing views will now inherit the color from the body.

RE: Default colors

Just remembered an seldom used function. Maybe this feature does the trick.
A visualization template.
Open one part where the colors are correct.
Open one of the lower tabs in the resource bar, maybe "Roles". Right click in the "white space" and select "New palette".
- A new empty palette will open.
Right click in the new palette white space and select New Entry - Visualization Template... + OK
Change to the part where the colors are wrong, drag drop the visualization template. IF not correct, don't save.. smile

Regards,
Tomas
