Mobile App
(OP)
Is anyone familiar of a mobile app that can do operations with common engineering units?
For example doing something like this would be great:
(5kN + 3kip)/5ft^2 = 3.5kPa

Seems like it would be better to do the conversion yourself just to make sure you get a feel for the magnitudes.

You certainly get it for an Android system because I had it on my phone for a while.
RE: Mobile App
I have i48, an HP-48GX emulator [https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/i48/id329454950?mt...), on my iPhone and it works great. In fact, I just used it to calculate a pressure of 39492.9_Pa from your data.
The m48 app, which I don't have, includes several other HP models (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/m48+/id341541461?m...). I also found an HP-50G app (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/hp50g/id553279622?...).
Similar apps appears to exist for the Android platform.

For instance type in
pi * 5lbf / m^2 in kPa
and it will give me:
pi * 5 (lbf / (m^2)) = 0.0698725017 kilopascals
as the response before the first search result. If you've got a quick search bar you don't even have to hit enter. It just shows up as the suggested result in the drop down.
Works on the phone version as well.

I haven't tried it on a tablet, but a quick scan of the Net suggests that only Windows Surface Pro 8 tablets will run the full version of MS Office, including VBA.

RE: Mobile App
I hope that is a typo. If not, your spreadsheet is wrong. 39.49 is correct.
RE: Mobile App
Yes, typo. I agree with the consensus 39.5 :)

RE: Mobile App
There is a free program much like MathCad called Smath Studio.
I used the desktop version before and it works pretty well.
http://www.smathstudio.com/. But I just looked at their website. It seems that they have mobile app too.Good luck!

RE: Mobile App
If you are working on Windows I highly recommend Smath Studio. I use it frequently for cross-unit designs just like your example.
