Wooden Roof Truss ID

Wooden Roof Truss ID

I'm doing an analysis on an existing roof and need some direction on how to decode/identify a wooden roof truss (designation/notation). Unfortunately, I do not have the truss shop detail drawings, so all I have are the structural design construction drawings. The designation for the truss is [22" TRUTRUSS OWW 2/2 @ 24" O.C.]. I assume the [22"] is the truss depth, and of course the [@ 24" O.C.] is the transverse spacing between trusses. But I have no idea what the other notations mean. FYI, the building construction project was located in California and constructed around 2006.

RE: Wooden Roof Truss ID

Tru Truss is a manufacturer. Not sure what the OWW 2/2 mean (maybe Open Web (2)ply? I am completely guessing). Try calling TruTruss. If you have an address they may still have the files.

RE: Wooden Roof Truss ID

I believe they used to be in Eldorado Hills, CA. Don't know if they still are.

Thanks for the info. I've already contacted Tru-Truss Engineering (http://tru-truss.us/) as well as Alliance TruTrus (http://www.alliancelumber.com/company/divisions_tr...), who will get back to me. I thought that the "OWW 2/2" might be standard industry terminology/notation, since these were on the structural/architectural design drawings.
