Horizontal Slider Thing: Turn Off?

Horizontal Slider Thing: Turn Off?

Horizontal Slider Thing: Turn Off?

(OP)
Hello! Sorry for such a simple question, but I have switched to NX Native for the day (from my regular TC linked NX) and the user interface is the same with the exception of the little "slider" that all of the pop-up menus are attached to (see screen shot). I cannot seem to figure out how to turn this wretched thing off. Anyone know how to turn it off? Thanks.

RE: Horizontal Slider Thing: Turn Off?

What version of NX are you running?

John: How friggin sick of asking that question are you? purpleface I swear I had that in my signature on my old profile ... but I recently started a new one. Sorry about that.

NX7.5.5.4

RE: Horizontal Slider Thing: Turn Off?

If there is a slider running NX native, - there is a slider under TC too.
Try click the down -right- arrow ( top left corner) it will "detach" the dialog from the slider.
( And will stay that way.)

Tomas

Hi Toost.

1) There is definitely not a slider in TC instance of NX.

2) Using the "unclip" button (the arrow) partially alleviates the problem. The menu becomes 'unclipped' but the slider is still there. I was just hoping to get rid of it altogether to match my TC instance.

Thanks again.

RE: Horizontal Slider Thing: Turn Off?

I assume that you run NX7.5.x
I have never seen this before but there is a customer default "Use dialog Rail".
So if your NX versions are the same native and managed, it might be the customer default option. - I have not tried it.
File - Utilities - Customer defaults - Gateway User interface ( or search for "rail" in the customer defaults.)

Forget the comment "I assume that..." ....
Reading carefully helps . smile

RE: Horizontal Slider Thing: Turn Off?

There is a good reason to ask about the NX version since the so-called 'slide' was removed in NX 8.5, so please double check as I'm not aware of any way to explicitly 'remove' the slider in NX 7.5 whether running 'native' or under Teamcenter.

OK. Thanks John and Toost for your assistance. I was just being overly picky. Unclipping will work for me as I rarely use the Native version. Thanks again!

hey john, is it true that CAST won't be available anymore from NX9.0 on? i've asked in another thread but didn't get the answer.

RE: Horizontal Slider Thing: Turn Off?

For loki3000, CAST has been replaced with 'Learning Advantage'. Excuse the pun, but you can 'learn' more about 'Learning Advantage' at:
