Architectural Camber in a Steel Gider Brdige

Architectural Camber in a Steel Gider Brdige

(OP)
For a steel Girder in a single span bridge, according to DOT standard,we provide Architectural camber(in) =Span(ft)/100 at the center of the beam. Is there a parbolic equation to calculate Arch. camber at pts along the beam? Ex for a beam 58.2 ft, Arch.camber at midpoint would be 0.582in. what would be the camber ar 1/4 span?
Also if the vertical curve is a(-ive)value, would that have to be accounted for in the architectural cammber to make up for the sag for calculating the final total camber
Thanks.

RE: Architectural Camber in a Steel Gider Brdige

You're not building a watch. You can use 1/2 the midspan or use a catenary equation in reverse.

I agree with Ron.
