Electronics thermal management simulation software

(OP)
Hi, I was wondering if someone could suggest a simulation package that would be the most appropriate for my application. I currently design 2 or 3 rack mount enclosures each year and I am looking for a low budget simulation package for calculating internal temperature, simulating air flow, etc. I model everything in Solidworks Premium 2013 and the VAR quoted $7,500usd for the SW simulation package which contains thermal analysis but not cfd :( Considering I don't need the other stuff that is included in SW simulation...does anyone here have a suggestion for a simulation package like this that is less than or around say $1000usd? Thanks! Aron

RE: Electronics thermal management simulation software

Good luck..
We too went looking and it turns out its far cheaper to physically prototype for the few products we do each year..

Can't you do an "upgrade" to SW simulation.. I wouldn't expect it to be $7k+ for that..

RE: Electronics thermal management simulation software

you could do radtherm + hypermesh package, it has fluid nodes and heat transfer simulation, no idea about the cost though, maybe 5k or less for both
