Pre-wired, panel-mounted, DC power jacks?

Pre-wired, panel-mounted, DC power jacks?

Pre-wired, panel-mounted, DC power jacks?

(OP)
Howdy All,

I'm having a hell of a time finding off-the-shelf, pre-wired, panel-mounted, DC power jacks.

It is common to find pre-wired, non-panel-mounted DC power jacks, but not panel-mounted ones. Does anyone know any sources?

Thank you

HI SceneryDriver,

These could work, but are too expensive for my application. Very good find, neverthless.

Now pretend you are actually an engineer and actually provide some proper specifications..
voltage/current/number of poles,etc...

How about even just showing an "example" of a similar type that is not panel mounted..

There are only THOUSANDS of different connectors that could be referred to as "DC power jacks"

Why "prewired"? How about something with just faston (quick connect) tabs..
IF prewired..pigtail length?
Price point?
volume needed?
Do you actually want them mounted in a panel or capable of being panel mounted?
and on and on

details man.. details...

Mcgyvr,

Point taken. Hardware selection is difficult without specifications. However, in this case, I chose to leave the specifications open, because I was willing to modify my design to accommodate the available DC jacks.

Some advice to you, for the sake of your career:

Although you make a good point, if you aim such insults ("pretend that you're actually an engineer") at co-workers in a business setting, you may find yourself fired at some point. I've personally seen it happen 3 times. Once, to a 6-year employee who insulted a temporary laborer. Once, to an HR Manager who repeated insulted an HR Generalist, within earshot of other employees. Finally, to a technician who insulted the VP of Engineering (no one survives that mistake).

Good luck to you.

Impossible, actually. If you are doing some market research for the purpose of finalizing your specifications, then that's the way to pse such a question.

One possible candidate: for 12 volt applications (up to about 10-15 Amps), consider an automotive type DC jack (AKA cigarette lighter jack). Many 12V loads are equipped with compatible plugs and numerous versions of such jacks are available.
