Modeling Masonry Partition

Modeling Masonry Partition

Modeling Masonry Partition

(OP)
I have a one story braced frame structure. I have numerous masonry partitions throughout the building. I would like Etabs to account for the masonry partitions for seismic loading. However, since it is a one story building the masonry walls sit on the foundation not the steel structure. How do i get Etabs to account for these partitions during seismic design?

RE: Modeling Masonry Partition

If there aren't any seismic loads on the main structure arising from the walls, why would you model it anyway?

The wall doesn't contribute any gravity load however, the top of the wall is braced by the steel structure so seismic load based on the weight of wall is transferred to the structure.
