RE: mollier h-x chart with exergy

You should start by telling us what exergy is.....it's not in the dictionary, just to start.

RE: mollier h-x chart with exergy

Exergy is a term I remember from school that I have not heard since. But the OP is not making things up...

RE: mollier h-x chart with exergy

Wikipedia is unvetted crap......

RE: mollier h-x chart with exergy

Very true... But it is in my thermo text.

One of the things I was taught once and haven't looked at since.

RE: mollier h-x chart with exergy

Well, I took classical and statistical thermo and I've never heard of the term and those classes that I took back in the 60's.

Two comments on this:

First is: zdej, you've posted four times over the last few months about this exergy analysis and your heat exchanger, starting in June and continuing on through September. Maybe you would get more assistance if you described your issue all at once, instead of in bits and drabs.

Second, while no one directly answered your question, IRStuff provided some good links. The first one looks like it might at least have some useful information. However, to directly answer your question, I have no idea what computer program could be used. It kind of depends what you have available and somewhat depends on the answer to what are you trying to do.

RE: mollier h-x chart with exergy

"Availability" is what I am use to, yet the term exergy in not defined or mentioned in my references and obviously in my "60's" textbooks.

RE: mollier h-x chart with exergy

I guess it will be either availability or exergy depending who is (are) the author(s) and from which country(ies) the author(s) originate.
