What is this thing called?

What is this thing called?

Hello all,

I am currently working on an instruction manual for a pair of calipers, but the only problem is that I don't know what the actual name for these kind of calipers is. We are pretty sure they are used to measure gear teeth thickness and depth, but I believe finding help online would be much more efficient if I didn't just Google "different calipers" and go from there.

I included a link to a picture of it. Any help would be fantastic! Thanks a lot

RE: What is this thing called?

It appears you already know the answer. They look like gear tooth calipers to me, which is what you've surmised. "Google" that term, and see if you find what you are looking for.

Thanks TWJR.

I have Googled that term before, but I was curious if there was a better search I could do. Thanks for the confirmation!

RE: What is this thing called?

In fact, if you google "gear tooth caliper instructions" you get even more apparently apt info.

I did Google that, but there was a lot of non-related search results in the list, making me think I had the wrong name. Anywho, problem solved!
