Hello all,
I have been assigned to prepare documentation for a series of ball valves.
i found that the Sphericity tolerance of ball is limited to 0.02mm. The valve has ISO 2768 as general tolerancing, but i couldn't find any (min- max) limits for "profile tolerance of surfaces"(as in ISO 1101). Is it adressed in form of coaxiality, run-out or anything..??. Also, Is there any other standards refering to Sphericity tolerance of sufaces.

A complete sphere is also accepted as a feature of size and therefore can just be positioned, however your question was about control of the sphere surface so profile is the way to go.

Thanks for your reply. could you kindly tell me the ASME/ ISO standard that refers for the tolerance of spherical surface dimensions.

I am sorry if I gave you the wrong impression. ASME does not have "canned" tolerances similar to say ISO general tolerances. ASME has the envelope principle that covers form to some extent (perfect form at MMC).
We do have ISO similar "canned" fit tolerances, but after rereading your post, I do not think we have something similar to what you are looking for.
