Isotropic Material Coefficients to anistropic coefficients
Isotropic Material Coefficients to anistropic coefficients
(OP)
Hi,
I have a material that I have performed uniaxial tests on and obtained material properties for it in both its perpendicular and transverse direction. The material is hyperelastic and using the curve fitting option in abaqus against my uniaxial data I have obtained the coefficients for best fit using reduced polynomial n-2 as well as in ogden n-1. If i model the material in fea I can apply loads in a specific direction and define the material properties for that orientation.
My question is weather its possible to define both directions in abaqus for a single part using the information I have right now. I see the option of using anisotropic material type but I do not know how to obtain those coefficients using the experimental data I have. Is it possible to translate the isotropic coefficients i have for the individual directions toward the anisotropic coefficients needed for Holzapfel SEF.

Note that you will not get a correct 3D representation of the material, as you need 3 independent tests for that.
