debugWIRE Device Programming

debugWIRE Device Programming

debugWIRE Device Programming

(OP)
One of the listed features of the ATMEL ATMEGA48A-PU microcontroller is that its nonvolatile memory can be programmed via its debugWIRE interface assuming that the DWEN fuse must be programmed via the SPI or Parallel interface before the debugWIRE interface can be used. Most of the programmers/debuggers indicate that debugWIRE can only be used for debugging and not for programming.
1) What programmer can then be used to program the nonvolatile memory through the debugWIRE interface with the least unexpected problems?
2) What is the best programming software and version to perform debugWIRE programming with the least adverse issues? AvrStudio4.18? AvrStudio 6.1? CodeVisionAvr3.06-ChipProgrammer?

Nothing yet. Their Sails rep nothing trustworthy that consideres real issues yet.

RE: debugWIRE Device Programming

You don't want to speak to a sales rep... you want an app engineer. The first sells you the world, the second actually makes it for him.
