API 6A Valves & Company certification

API 6A Valves & Company certification

(OP)
Hi all.
I wonder if you can help me.

May it be possible for a company which is NOT certified with API6A produce and sell API6A valves?

Thanks in advance.

RE: API 6A Valves & Company certification

API maintains a search tool on their web page to help you find which companies hold which licenses. If they are not on the API web page, they are not licensed. Check the following link: http://api.org/certification-programs/api-monogram...

RE: API 6A Valves & Company certification

Yes, a company that makes API 6A valves can declare complaince with the standard. However, many custoemrs will not accept a declaration from the manufacturer. Do not trust them. Especially the China suppliers. So they rely on API to audit and certify the manufacturers product meets 6A. Upon successfully passing the audit, API grants a license to apply the API logo to the product. API provides a list of all approved manufacturers to their standards. It is called the Composite List and you can get it for free from their website. It is not imperative to get the API license to decalre 6A, but many end users expect it.

RE: API 6A Valves & Company certification

A star for you, bcd. I wasn't aware that this Composite List exists. Very interesting!
