Telescopic lifing beam modeling

Telescopic lifing beam modeling

Telescopic lifing beam modeling

(OP)
Dear members

I'm having some problem modeling a telescopic lifing beam in abaqus.
I have some experience with in the program with one piece models but in this case it consist of two pieces of tube telescoping in eachother and fixed in several positions via a pin.
The beam is held up in the middel by a crane and on the two extremeties a load is aplied straight down.

The problem is that the parts are no touching when i import the 3d assembly in abaqus. The inner tube is smaller by some mm to fit easely in the outer tube.
To define a displacement would not seame totaly correct as there would be a minimal rotation around the pin that keeps the parts from sliding in and out of eachother.

Can someone tell wich is the best way to model this kind of problem our mayby direct me to a tutorial with telescoping parts?

Kind regards

Rick
