Transportation Engineering Design - Book recommendation

Hi!
Can anyone recommend a good book on this subject.
Horizontal aligment design, vertical aligment design, superelevation, parking places...
I found few good topics on the internet but I would like to buy a good book.
Thank you.

Anyone, please sad

RE: Transportation Engineering Design - Book recommendation

Do some on line searches.

For instance a text I used for a course I taught. was by Yoder

http://www.amazon.com/Principles-Pavement-Design-2...

Doing a search for "Highway alignment" or "Highway Intersections" or "US Department of Transportation" are just a few.

Many state Departments of Transportation have Design manuals on the Internet.

RE: Transportation Engineering Design - Book recommendation

AASHTO Green Book

RE: Transportation Engineering Design - Book recommendation

What are you trying to do? Learn the subject? Design a road? The Green Book is the bible for design, but it is not going to go very in-depth with teaching the actual subjects.

RE: Transportation Engineering Design - Book recommendation

Ana - You want the second book you listed (PGDHS), or also known as the "Green Book."

RE: Transportation Engineering Design - Book recommendation

AnaAnt here is the FHWA link. This is where you can find some information. You may also take a look at your State DOT as they may have some additional information for geometric design.

@Twinkie
Yes to re-learn (learned long ago) the subject and design a road.
Why do you say its not going to teach me the subject?

RE: Transportation Engineering Design - Book recommendation

If you have previous knowledge you will be fine...I was not sure of your level of experience. It's not really a "textbook" that will teach the subject, but if you have some background you will be fine.

RE: Transportation Engineering Design - Book recommendation

There is the Highway Engineering Handbook by Baker.
