How to include torsion into AASHTO LRFD design for shear

(OP)
Hello,

I am trying to figure out how to include torsion into the set of shear equations for AASHTO LRFD design. I came across a few articles calculating the longitudinal strain epsilon_x differently for combined shear and torsion, and one article stating "it appears that in the later editions of the code beta and theta selected and epsilon_x calculated without adjustment of the shear stress due to torsion. However, the total shear capacity and the web crushing capacity needs to exceed the shear force modified to acocunt fortorsion." Please advise.
