Composite Concrete + Steel Deck Reference

Composite Concrete + Steel Deck Reference

Hello:

Its been several years since I took a class on the above cited floor framing system. I recall the instructor skimmed us through a set of tables without going into the details of the design. Do you guys know of a web reference where I can analyze and design a floor system for a two bay, 13' clear span each for a two floor office building? 3000 sf. Thanks in advance.

RE: Composite Concrete + Steel Deck Reference

Often times, a composite steel deck is designed with tables in a steel deck manufactures catalog. If you want to know how the capacity is calculated, the Steel Deck Institute has standards that you might find useful: http://www.sdi.org/publications-2/standards/. They also have some useful publications for sale. Also, several steel deck manufactures provide useful information in their catalogs or technical literature. For instance : http://www.canam-steeljoists.ws/www/v4/epublica.ns... ; http://www.vulcraft.com/
