1/4 BSP External Threads

1/4 BSP External Threads

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone out there has a model of a 1/4 BSP tapered external thread ? or a way to show a detailed tapered thread that looks similar ?

I'm trying to make up a simple model of a custom water fitting for our moulding shop, and although to get the part made I don't need to have the thread modelled. I need to be able to show something on the model that looks "real" for a help and training document so the not so engineering literate users on the shop floor can understand that the parts have a thread and that it should be tapered !!

I have tried using photo's but it's not as easy to show what I need to show.

Thanks in advance

RE: 1/4 BSP External Threads

While the attached file is not actually an 1/4 BSP thread, it's close (it's a 1/4 NPT) but you can at least use it as an example of how to model a fully detailed external tapered pipe thread. And who knows, maybe if you just edit this file with the proper parameters for a 1/4 BSP thread you'll have something that you can use without having to start over from scratch.
