ABS Deformation

ABS Deformation

ABS Deformation

(OP)
Hi!

We seem to be having an issue with a customer who complains that some of the ABS in their products is starting to "bubble". After cutting the product through the raised area, it appears that it is only the ABS and not the Elastopor foam that has expanded.

We supply the same products to other customers who don't complain about this issues. Is there anything that they might be doing that would cause this problem. Photos below.

Many thanks!

Jack

RE: ABS Deformation

I don't know if there is something they are doing wrong, but just because your other clients are not complaining does not mean that don't have the problem.

RE: ABS Deformation

ABS is notorious for being SCC sensitive to a range of common chemicals.

RE: ABS Deformation

Is it BASF (now Styrolution) ABS? Has it been exposed to hot water?
