I did a suspension bridge 2D model in ANSYS work bench and modal analysis was coducted. In the modal analysis I want to find axial deformation of cable elements along its axis. I'm new user for ANSYS.
Can someone please help me on this matter.

A modal analysis will not give you 'actual' deformations only relative deformations for a given mode shape. Why? Because there is no loading present. A modal analysis only gives you the dynamic properties of a structure ie eigenvalues (frequencies), eigenvectors (mode shapes) and associated effective masses. See the ansys manual or a good dynamics source (eg Dynamics of Structures by Clough & Penzien) for more.

I understood your point. In the mode shapes I need to find out the displacement (relative) along the axis of the element. Please help me if you have any knowledge on that. [For example we can find the nodal (relative)displacement of a simply supported beam transverse to it. However I need that values along its axis.]
In my case it is a curved cable.
