Short circuit or electrical fault

Does any known who made the point to point method of calculating faults and in what year. This method is some times called in LICE method. Other times it is called the direct method. It is shown in The IEEE Gray Book (IEEE std 241-1990). The tables are found in busman guide books and other places. Who made this tables too.

I work on Low voltage (208 v and 480V systems) designs for contractors and architects. I found this is simplest method of placing the calcs on the drawing for the building departments plan check. I know how the do all the other method of calculations but I like this method the best for this type of work. Times are changing so now I use the computer program made by SKM for the more involved bigger buildings projects that require coordination, fault and arc fault protection.

I have used the point to point method so long that I would like to know a little of how it started and who spend the time to make all those tables.

RE: Short circuit or electrical fault

IEEE Std-339/1990 "Recommended Practice for Industrial and Commercial Power System Analysis" contains 385 pages. Could you pls. be more specific ?
I think you mean the ch.7 Short-Circuit Studies and the Table 11,12,13.
The Working Members- Chair and contributor- were David H. Smith and Claus Wiig. You may contact Claus Wiig from LikedIn.

Thanks all for the help.

I never thought of contacting the IEEE board for this . I may do that. I didn't think these people that made this standard was still alive. I remember when I first used that standard I was 35 years.

I have used the Bussman tables for a long time. Now I have it as a pdf file- thanks for the pdf.
I am trying to get rid of all my paper documents and use only pdf's. So I am doing a lot of scanning. This will eliminate scanning the bussman book.
