Hello all.
As an engineer I have set up my cad station with a dual monitor setup.
To maximize my working area in NX, and still be able to fully display them, I used to have my Navigators "undocked" on my lefthand monitor while my NX main window was situated at my righthand monitor.
Drawback to this is that having my navigators undocked in their own seperate windows, they are difficult to align to each other (also with the win7 interface the positions are not always that acurate).
Specially when switching between applications (going from drafting to modeling and vica versa) the navigators tend to jump around as they are arranged accroding to which application you are in.
I found this very anoying and tried a different solution.
I now have my main NX window spanned across both monitors. My working area I have confined to my righthand monitor, and the navigators are now docked at the lefthand side of my NX application by means of the resource bar setup to show as a toolbar.
By setting the width of the navigators to match the width of the lefthand monitor I have maximized the amouint of information to be shown in there. (see attached Image)
Still this isn't the most ideal solution. What I would like to see...Maybe in the new interface from NX9
, is a solution where you can have your navigators combined and at a fixed configuration, in their own seperate window which can be positioned at a second monitor without the need to span the NX application over two desktops.
Maybe someone else has other tips to acomplish a similar setup?
