Design of High Pressure RTJ Girth Flange

Hi Guys,

Need some help here. Currently, i am designing a High Pressure RTJ Girth Flange. Just want to know is there any pressure rating for O-Rings in accordance to their dimensions? Ur advise is highly appreciated. Thanks.

)-rings? rubber O-rings? Or do you mean the metal ring thats inserted in the RTJ flange?

Thanks for ur reply. its a metal rings that inserts in the RTJ flange. Have u ever come across with o-rings with partition?

ngyc87,

What's high pressure for you? If design is less than ANSI 1500 class, you might take a serious look at SWG's. There are several variations of the metal o-ring design, the one I most familiar with is nominally called 'helicoflex'. I haven't seen any with pass-partitions, but it shouldn't be too hard. Normally, when I see pass-partitions, they are HE related, and in most cases the right SWG, with internal and external metal rings tend to be the best selection.

Hi Rick. Thanks for ur reply. Decided to go for SPWD Gasket. Anyway, my design pressure is 137 barg.
