Wrecker turning radius

Wrecker turning radius

Wrecker turning radius

(OP)
AASHTO doesn't seem to have a template for a tow truck dragging a car - the kind of wrecker that hauls off illegaly parked, broken down, or wrecked vehicles from an accident scene. For layout of an auto body shop. Any suggestions? thanks.

RE: Wrecker turning radius

Check with the cab/chassis manufacturer and the wrecker hydraulics manufacturer. They can likely give you dimensions. In general, it will be the wheelbase of the truck + the length of the towed vehicle + the distance from the rear axle of the truck to the front axle of the vehicle being towed.
