Linked Body Material

(OP)
Hi all,
I have a prt file with just a linked body in it. This body has a material which it inherited from the original part.
The problem is that it has no attribute called material.
When I change the materioal to another one the material attribute appears.
But I am not allowed to change the material back to the original one.

Is there something I can do about this?
I would like the material linked to the drawing.

I use NX8.5
HP Z600 Intel Xeon E5520 2.27GHz Dual
Quadro FX 3800 5GB
9GB Memory
Windows 7, 64-bit

RE: Linked Body Material

The original part file was probably created prior to when attributes were automatically inherited. Changing the material triggered the new enhanced behavior.

When you say that you're not allowed to change the material back to the old one, exactly what do you mean by that? Are you saying the NX is somehow preventing this and if so, how is that being manifested?
