Hi, everyone. I recently used general contact to define the surface contact between two shell component. But the result show both positive and negative cpress value. I checked the allow separation, what else that might be wrong can lead to this result? Thanks

RE: ask for a contact problem in abaqus, the cpress displays negtive value.

Probably a mixture of rounding errors and extrapolation of the element stress to the nodal positions due to only one element through the thickness.

Hi,corus is there anyway to display cpress based on element? It seems that abaqus only allow banded display mode.
