help engraving with a han-kwang laser 4000w

(OP)
We have a 4000w hankwng and we are trying to do engraving on stainless. the quality is not good.
We are using a 5" focal lens do you think a smaller focal length will help in a better quality.like a 3.75" focal lens?
any tips please?

RE: help engraving with a han-kwang laser 4000w

What kind of quality are you getting? Slag and burrs on the top? You could have your focus incorrect, power too high, feed rate too low and gas pressure too low.

The assist gas type can also have an influence. Post a picture of the results you are getting. It'll be much easier to help you then.
