Poulos and davis suggested a value for (Ks.tan (phi)) for driven and drilled piles. where sheet pile could lie in the chart? my logic is: sheet piles are driven not drilled but did they really develop a plug at the tip so they could qualify for higher K value, what is the typical values. Soil is very dense saprolite ( phi = 38) I am using 0.5 which is max for drilled but I am not sure if higher values could be justified.
