I am an engineer and I am asked to suggest number of tx tests for foundation. Can someone suggest how many uu cu cd per borehole and at what depth. Are there any references available if possible. Thanks.

RE: Testing soil using triaxial test. What is the frequency of testing.

It all depends on the loads, soil types, soil variability, and other factors. In short experience is the key.

I suggest you talk with someone else on your project to get some guidence.

You could also ask "How many test borings?" My standard answer is "At least one". Then, when you are done, you will know how many, maybe. For triaxials, I'd say, as Geopaver, but I'd add, "none to rarely" for most jobs. They are expensive and, with competition, costs sometimes over ride wishes.
