Windsor probes and the indicted test lab

Windsor probes and the indicted test lab

Windsor probes and the indicted test lab

(OP)
We had concrete cylinders completed in the traditional manner, but our lab was indicted and closed down by the Feds for falsifying test reports. The NYC Dept of Buildings will now not accept any testing completed by this lab, and requires retesting.

Our building is small (~2000sft), with only a slab on grade and some 3ft tall foundation walls. Cores will be difficult and expensive, so I would like to use Windsor probes. The DOB asks for cores by default, but allows for the presentation of alternate test methods on a case by case basis. I am looking for some supporting material which I can present to[/sup] the DOB that the Windsor probes are in fact reliable.

RE: Windsor probes and the indicted test lab

Use the Windsor probes to reduce the number of cores you'll have to take. Do this by taking a few cores (3 min) and corresponding Windsor probe values, then use the correlation for the rest of the building.
