ANCHORAGE AND SHEAR FORCE

(OP)
FOR ANCHORED TANKS :
ANCHORES RESIST NORMAL FORCES ONLY DUE TO UPLIFT OR RESIST SLIDING DUE TO WIND AND SEISMIC ALSO

RE: ANCHORAGE AND SHEAR FORCE

In API 650, uplift only.

RE: ANCHORAGE AND SHEAR FORCE

Well, with the types of storms we had in the recent past, to consider sliding in addition to uplift may not be a bad idea.

RE: ANCHORAGE AND SHEAR FORCE

Haha, soon we'll need double sided Scotch on the bottom of the tank. Otherwise, use m=0.3 friction factor if API 650 will consider the mentioned storms.
Cheers,
