PSV Discharge to Surge Vessel

PSV Discharge to Surge Vessel

PSV Discharge to Surge Vessel

(OP)
Hi All,
I'm reviewing P&IDS for glycol unit and have one question on glycol Pump discharge PSV, PSV set pressure is 850 psig and will go in 50 psi operating surge vessel via 1" which is joing 3" surge vessel inlet line.
does this high pressure can create a problem for low operating prssure system or not?
Thanks

RE: PSV Discharge to Surge Vessel

Without seeing a sketch, I'm assuming the feed to the pump is from the surge vessel. Dumping a pump PSV discharging back to its source tank is common and has no effect on the low pressure system.
