To copy view from one drawing to another drawing

To copy view from one drawing to another drawing

To copy view from one drawing to another drawing

Is it possible to copy a view from one drawing to another drawing.

I have an .asc format drawing which is imported onto NX. Now i have to copy some views from this drawing to another drawing.
When i tried to copy these view, it works from one sheet to another sheet within a drawing file.
But not working for one drawing file to another file.

The views does not depend on any CAD. I do not want any CAD dependency. But the annotation remains to be editable. SO, CGM is not preferable.

Is there any another possibility?

Your comments will be appreciated.
Thanks

RE: To copy view from one drawing to another drawing

Which version of NX do you use?
In NX8.5, I can copy the view from one file to another. I have created a stand-alone drawing with some Standard Views and I have copied them to another drawing file with no problem. I have also created a drawing for a particular part. And I have copied those to another drawing file, too.

And do you want to copy in a new drawing file, or into already created drawing file?
If you want to copy to a new drawing file, than just Save As your current drawing and delete the views, you don't want to have.
If you want to copy to an existing drawing, than there is another option. Can you activate your view for sketching? This used to be Expand Member View option. So, go in view, select the geometry and then click copy or ctrl+v. No, open the existing drawing, create an empty standard view, activate this view for sketching and select paste. The geometry from one view in one file will be copied to another view in anothre file.

THanks for the comments svenborn.
I am using NX-7.5 .

i need to copy views to an exisiting drawing.

The expanding and copying technique is working. But i have to create all the curves and annotions into a symbol before copying.
