Dear Friends

I have a technical offer suggest Alloy steel ASTM A304-6150H to be subsituated instead of Carbon steel.Please let me know more about offered alloy and have a comparison between their proporties for a process gas appilcation.

More detailed information about the specific use for this substitute material is required to provide any help. Is this for a pressure safety relief valve or components related to this valve or other application?

I always considered such a substitution request to be using a different classification of material as opposed to a material upgrade. You have to be very careful that the changes in material properties do not affect your application or the design intention. For this reason, I almost never approved such material substitution requests back when I did this for a power equipment manufacturer.
