Storage Tank Nozzle Load

Storage Tank Nozzle Load

Storage Tank Nozzle Load

(OP)
i have a project to install a 24" nozzle at 1491mm elevation from bottom for side entry mixer agitator. i was asked to do the nozzle load calculation like nozzle schedule, re-pading sizing so that it can bear the load of agitator.
can some help me out in this regard. i checked API 650 11th edition appendiz P but its for tank dia 36m and larger. the one i have is of 16m dia.

i just need priliminary calculation for it.

thanks

RE: Storage Tank Nozzle Load

While it is possible to use Annex P for tank diameters less than 36m, however the results may have limited use since the shell thickness to diameter ratios for small tanks fall outside of the assumptions made in the supporting research. I would suggest as an alternative to use WRC 107 or finite element analysis to obtain the necessary allowable nozzle loads.

thank you very much for you comments however, i tried to find WRC 107 na d WRC 297 on internet but fail to find it. do you have any link where i can find this standard?

appreciated
